Shuffle Dating in San Diego poor experience. I tried my first Shuffle Dating event today and it was total crap for me.
I’m a decent looking fit guy with my life well together who looks way younger than my age in fact one of the participants complimented me on looking very good and young (I’m 42 and she thought I was early 30s). I made sure to dress decent. Most of the matches were way out of shape which I’m not into. I found two girls were attractive out of the bunch and one of them had a bit of attitude at first. I don’t blame her since all the male participants were super nerdy and unattractive for the most part. I heard some women talking amongst themselves saying two or three of the men didn’t show up and I could see some women were waiting by themselves in between rounds annoyed. Now about that one other woman that I felt was attractive, as fate would have it she was assigned as my 9th and final match.. I was really looking forward to chatting with her but I noticed she left half way through the event.. I got a text from the shuffle admin saying my last shuffle match wasn’t feeling good and I could leave early. What I suspect is she didn’t like her first matches and was upset about waiting around due to shortage of men and left. I’m really pissed off! I was super courteous and made meaningful conversations with all the participants even though I was very unattracted to just about all of them! While it’s nice to think this could be a level playing field with no manipulation from any algorithms on dating apps… this is most likely to require too much patience and is probably hit or miss. It’s like flying totally blind not knowing who might be there and worse who may not show up or just feel like leaving halfway through it. I think it’s about $25 or so each time which to me seems not worth it. The shuffle admins just run this via text and the website tells you the description of your match when it’s your turn with them. Screw it… I’m going to expedite finishing my classic leadsled hotrod and hit some car shows and hope maybe there’s some single woman I cross paths that likes the old classics because it reminds her of her grandpas car he had when she was growing up…. That or I’m going to start volunteering at an animal shelter or something and maybe meet someone through that if I’m lucky. I’m tired of the dating apps like most people so decided to give shuffle dating a try… I don’t go out to bars or clubs… the only (maybe single women) I come across are at the Home Depot garden section and they always seem unapproachable 😐 I kept looking for reviews of shuffle dating in San Diego and couldn’t find any on Reddit. I guess I’m the first and hope this helps others determine what they might run into!
